Prof. Varda Shalev, MD, MPA is a Managing Partner at Team8 Health.
Varda is an Israeli medical researcher, a professor of medicine at the Tel Aviv University School of Public Health, and an active primary care physician. She is also the co-founder and chief medical officer at Alike. Health, a digital health startup.
Prior to Team8 Health, Varda was the founder and head of KSM, the Research and Innovation Center of Maccabi Health Services, Israel’s leading HMO. Previously, Varda founded the first medical informatics in Israel and was responsible for planning and developing its computerized medical systems. She has also pioneered the development of multiple disease registries to support chronic disease management.
Varda has an MD degree from Ben-Gurion University Medical School, a post doc in medical informatics from Johns Hopkins, and has authored or co-authored over 250 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
