This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) governs how we, Team8 Labs Ltd., its affiliates (“Company”, “we”, “our” or “us”), use Personal Information (defined below) that we collect, receive and store about individuals in connection with the use of our website, https://team8.vc/ (“Website”) together with its sub-domains, content and any other services we may provide (“Services”).

    Introduction. We have implemented this Privacy Policy because your privacy, and the privacy of other users, is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your Personal Information is collected and used in connection with the Site. “Personal Information” means any information that may be used, either alone or in combination with other information, to personally identify an individual, including, but not limited to, a first and last name, an email address, a phone number, a link to LinkedIn profile, a link to resume/portfolio, job title, photo or other contact information.

    Important note: Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit in any way your statutory rights, including your rights to a remedy or other means of enforcement.

    This Privacy Policy forms part of our Terms of Use which is available at https://team8.vc/terms/ (“Terms”). Any capitalized but undefined term in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning given to it in the Terms.

  3. Consent and Modification

    You are not legally obligated to provide us Personal Information, and you hereby confirm that providing us with Personal Information is at your own free will. To the maximum extent permitted by law, by using the Services, you consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy and to our collection, processing and sharing of Personal Information for the purposes set forth herein. If you do not agree to this Privacy Policy, please do not access or otherwise use the Services. We reserve the right, at our discretion, to change this Privacy Policy at any time and, therefore, we ask you to check back periodically for the latest version of this Privacy Policy. Such change will be effective ten (10) days following posting of the revised Privacy Policy on the Services, and your continued use of the Services thereafter means that you accept those changes. If we implement material changes in the way we use your personal information, in a manner that is different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify you by posting a notice on our Website or Services or by other means and take any additional steps as required by applicable law.

  4. What Personal Information We Collect and How We Collect It

    We do not currently require you to provide Personal Information in order to have access to general information available on the Services. However, we do receive and/or collect Personal Information from you in the following ways:

    • Information provided through the Services. We collect Personal Information that you voluntarily provide, such as your full name, email address, title, company name as well as any other information that you decide to provide us. We also collect the contact information.
    • Information provided through the Website. When you use the Website, we collect and process full name, email address, when you interact with the Website, for example, when you send us a request to contact us or complete any other website form (including when you submit your CV in the careers site).
    • Information from Other Sources. We may also obtain information about you from other sources, including publicly- or commercially-available information, and through third-party data platforms, partners and service providers.
    • Information you provide to us in person. For example, when you visit one of our exhibition booths or attend one of our events and you provide us with your contact details. We will use this information to answer your enquiries or provide additional information to you.
    • Information we collect from interactions. For example, if you attend a webinar, exhibition, contact us via social media or otherwise interact with our business, including as a representative of a current / prospective customer, supplier or partner, we track and make a record of those interactions, which may contain your contact details, such as full name, email address, messages and any other information that you decide to provide us with including photos.
    • Log Files. When you browse or visit our Services, we may make use of log files. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, clicked pages and any other information your browser may send to us. We may use such information to analyze trends, administer the Services, track users’ movement around the Services, and gather demographic information.
    • Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies. When you browse or visit our Services, we may utilize cookies, pixels, tracking technologies and similar identifiers (“Technologies”), anonymous identifiers and other tracking technologies in order for us to provide our Services and present you with information that is customized for you. We use the information we get from Google Analytics to maintain and improve the Service and our products. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information.     If you submit or we collect your Personal Information through the Services, then we may use such Personal Information in the following ways:

    • We will use your Personal Information to provide and improve our Services, to send you marketing/advertisement communications that we believe may be of interest to you that you have consented to receive.
    • We may use your designated email address to (i) send you updates or news regarding the Services and our products; and/or (ii) respond to “contact” us request from you.
    • In case you have applied for a position via the Website, we may retain your CV and approach you in the future with respect to other and/or new positions that may be of relevance to you.
    • We may create and use de-identified and/or aggregated information to operate, analyze, improve, and develop our Services. We may share such de-identified and/or aggregated information with third parties for lawful purposes.

We use commercially reasonable efforts to engage or interact only with third parties that are subject to obligations regarding the processing of Personal Information.
    • We may disclose your Personal Information if we have a good faith belief that such disclosure is helpful or reasonably necessary to: (i) comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, court order or governmental request; (ii) comply with requests of law enforcement, regulators, courts, banks or other competent authorities; (iii) enforce our Terms of Use and other policies, including investigations of potential violations thereof; (iv) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, illegal activities, suspected fraud, security issues or cybersecurity threats; (v) protect the safety, security and integrity of Team8, the Services, our customers, employees, property and the public; (vi) protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of Team8, our users, yourself or the public; and (vii) support our internal compliance procedures and ensure compliance with applicable policies.
    • We may publish your Personal Information as part of our marketing of Team8, the Services and/or the website, by mentioning and publishing that you participated in one of our exhibits, conferences and/or webinars, including publish event photos, including images featuring you, on our website and social media channels.
    • We may disclose your Personal Information in connection with investigating, preventing, or taking action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, cybersecurity threats, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of this Privacy Policy, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.
    • If, in the future, we sell, transfer, or consider selling or transferring, some or all of our business, shares or assets to a third party, we may disclose your Personal Information to such third party, whether actual or potential, in connection with such transaction, including to current or prospective investors. In the event that we are acquired by, merged with, or become subject to bankruptcy or a similar event, we reserve the right to transfer, disclose or assign your Personal Information in connection with such event.
    • We may disclose your Personal Information to our lawyers, accountants, auditors and other professional advisors where necessary to obtain legal, accounting, audit or other professional advice, or otherwise to protect and manage our business interests.
    • We may disclose your Personal Information in accordance with your consent.

    In order to run our business and provide our Website and Services to you, we transfer personal information to certain countries around the world, including to our affiliates and service providers, many of whom are located outside of your jurisdiction.     • You may have the right to request the erasure of your Personal Information, subject to certain conditions.
    • You may have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your Personal Information, under certain conditions, including if you believe that the processing is no longer necessary, that the legal basis for processing does not apply, or that the Personal Information is inaccurate.
    • You may have the right to receive the Personal Information concerning you that you provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, and to request its portability, subject to applicable law and certain conditions.
    • The Personal Information we collect is not used for automated decision-making or profiling, except for automated processes in the context of marketing.     How to exercise your rights. You may exercise your rights by contacting us at [email protected]. To protect your privacy, we may take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling your request. Subject to legal and other permissible considerations, we will make reasonable efforts to honor your request promptly in accordance with applicable law, or inform you if we require further information in order to process your request. When handling your request, we may ask you for additional information to confirm your identity and for security purposes before processing and/or honoring your request. We reserve the right to charge a fee where permitted by law, for example, if your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. If your request would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others, including duties of confidentiality we owe to others, or if we are otherwise legally permitted to handle your request in a different manner than initially requested, we will address your request to the maximum extent possible in accordance with applicable law.

    Opting Out. You may choose not to receive future promotional, advertising, marketing, or other Services-related emails from us by using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email that we send. Please note that even if you opt out of receiving the foregoing emails, we may still send you responses to any “sign-up for a demo” or “apply for a position” request, as well as administrative emails that are necessary to facilitate your use of the Services.

  10. Use By Children

    We do not offer our products or Services for use by children and, therefore, we do not knowingly collect personal information from, and/or about children under the age of 18. If you are under the age of 18, do not provide any information to us without the involvement of a parent or a guardian. In the event that we become aware that you provided personal information in violation of applicable privacy laws, we reserve the right to delete it.   12. Security. Data Retention.

    Security. We implement and maintain industry-standard technical, organizational and security measures designed to protect your Personal Information. However, please note that we cannot guarantee that the Personal Information will not be compromised as a result of unauthorized penetration of our servers. As the security of information depends in part on the security of the computer, device or network you use to communicate with us and the security you use to protect your user IDs and passwords, please make sure to take appropriate measures to protect this information.

    Retention of your Personal Information. Your Personal Information will be stored until we proactively delete it from our records, or until you send a valid deletion request.
