Demetrios L. Kouzoukas is a Partner at Team8 where he builds Digital Health companies.

He has more than 20 years of experience in US healthcare sectors, spanning business, law, government, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and payors.

Demetrios previously served as Chief Executive of the Medicare program at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. He was a Senior Executive for Medicare at UnitedHealthcare, and served as Deputy General Counsel and then Associate Deputy Secretary at the US Department of Health and Human Services where he played a leading role across the department’s agency portfolio, including the Food and Drug Administration, Office for Civil Rights, and Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. He also built practices at two leading healthcare law firms.

Demetrios is a member of the Board of Directors of Clover Health and serves as a member of the American Medical Association Digital Medicine Payment Advisory Group.

He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law and a BA in Political Science from George Washington University.
