Demetrios L. Kouzoukas is a Partner at Team8 Health. He joined Team8 in 2022 to launch Team8 Health, the new foundry which focuses on digital health.
Demetrios has more than 20 years of deep experience in every health care sector in the United States, spanning business, law, and government, as well as health care providers of all types, medical technology and pharmaceutical innovators, and payors. He is a leader who elevates organizations through consummate collaboration to achieve their true potential.
Before joining Team8, Demetrios was Chief Executive of the Medicare program at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Prior to that role, Demetrios was a senior executive in the Medicare business at United Healthcare. At an earlier time, Demetrios served as Deputy General Counsel and then Associate Deputy Secretary at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, playing a leading role in every part of the Department’s broad portfolio of agencies, including the Food & Drug Administration, the Office for Civil Rights, and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology. He has also built innovative practices at two leading health care law firms.
Demetrios is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Clover Health (CLOV) and serves as a member of the American Medical Association Digital Medicine Payment Advisory Group.
He holds the degree of Juris Doctor from The University of Illinois College of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University.
