About The Position
Requirements:

Port is an open internal developer portal platform, used by platform engineers to build internal developer platforms. Using Port, platform engineers deliver end-to-end developer experiences, resulting in better quality, security & cost control as well as faster onboarding and velocity. As Port’s developer relations lead you will focus on building Port’s community, showcasing the potential of Port through sample platform implementation, engaging videos, and insightful articles, while also representing us at key industry events. This is your chance to build a world-class developer relations function within a rapidly growing company, collaborating closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering and management.

Most importantly, you will be building a DevRel program from scratch, shaping the culture and direction of our effort, making your work massively impactful for Port.

What you will do:

  • Educate platform engineers about how to build compelling internal developer portals and developer experiences
  • Show how to build great internal developer platforms and how to drive better developer experiences through platform adoption, leading to better developer productivity, become known as one of the leading voices in platform engineering
  • Building Port’s community through engagement with its members, driving them to build more with Port
  • Finding new and exciting ways to demonstrate what’s possible with Port by creating sample apps and producing clear, deeply-technical content that showcases what’s possible with Port
  • Working with Port’s partners to show how integrating their tools and data into the developer portal can deliver compelling developer experiences
  • Community development by means of events, talks, collaborations, meetups, forums, slack, etc
  • Position Port with fresh content outside of owned blog that positions Port as platform engineering leader with presence in more communities, newsletters, meetups etc
  • Taking feedback regularly from the community to improve the product and marketing Focus
  • Be present in social media through dev-driven content. 
  • Keep tabs on everything happening outside of the company that can be leveraged to push Port forward
  • Advocate for projects and solutions that will drive better developer experiences and platform engineering

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience building strong developer communities
  • Excellent knowledge of platform engineering
  • Public speaking/teaching experience
  • Technical writing experience

You should also be independent, have a strong work ethic, know how to bring people together, be able to travel globally.
