Job Description

This Business Development Manager role presents a compelling opportunity for a results-oriented professional with expertise in cultivating strategic relationships within a specialized ecosystem. Team8’s unique expertise within the cybersecurity ecosystem positions this role to drive substantial value for both Team8’s community members and its portfolio companies.

With a strong emphasis on outreach, relationship management, and ideation, this role is ideally suited for an individual who is skilled in strategic networking and deeply knowledgeable about the cybersecurity or technology industry. The responsibilities blend community building with hands-on project management, requiring a professional who can foster meaningful engagements and proactively manage a continuous pipeline of opportunities. This position offers a dynamic environment where the right candidate will significantly contribute to Team8’s mission and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate a pipeline of ideation calls and qualified opportunities for our internal and portfolio companies’ research.
  • Create and manage relationships with new cybersecurity executives to bring them into the Team8 community
  • Manage relationships with portfolio founders and cybersecurity executives to create value through engagements
  • Maintain CRM hygiene of contacts, accounts, and opportunities, to ensure that relationships with community members are retained at the highest level possible
  • Support and attend Team8 events by curating audiences and driving attendance of the right people
  • Create and manage engaging events and workshops (live and virtual) end-to-end to support Team8 and portfolio company efforts
  • Collaborate with the Team8 portfolio companies on their go-to-market sales strategies and capabilities.
  • Leverage additional sales and marketing technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our efforts and share best practices internally and with the portfolio
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Sales Development/ Business Development Representative.
  • Experience working in a startup or venture capital ecosystem. 
  • Analytical and tech-savvy – with a true passion for Cybersecurity and Data.
  • Relationship-building expertise with global C- level executives.
  • Ability to digest large volumes of information and synthesize key takeaways.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as understanding strategic frameworks and concepts.
  • Experienced working with CRM and SDR tools (ZoomInfo / LinkedIn Navigator / Affinity / hubspot / apollo…)
  • Team player with a passion for a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, organized, and detail-oriented.
