Uri Shamay

Uri is a veteran technology leader and startup founder with over two decades of experience in building and architecting innovative systems. His last startup, Spectral, was acquired by Check Point. Uri was the Co-Founder & Chief Architect at Spectral, a startup that empowers teams to develop and deploy secure software at scale. After the acquisition, Uri became the Principal Architect of Cloud Security at Check Point, where he led the research and technology strategy for the cloud division.

Before Spectral, Uri held the position of Infrastructure Architect at Next Insurance, where he drove the development of platform engineering, core infrastructure, and security aspects. His career also includes a pivotal role as a Lead Developer at Juno, which was later acquired by Gett, shaping the company’s technical foundations.

Earlier, Uri was a key member of the core R&D team at Cotendo, which was acquired by Akamai, serving as Tech Lead and Software Architect. Post-acquisition, he played a significant role at Akamai in advancing next-generation internet infrastructure by integrating Cotendo’s technology into 300,000 servers worldwide.

Uri is also an active contributor to the tech community. He co-founded multiple developer and tech leader communities, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among technology professionals. Uri is also a dedicated mentor, volunteering with the 8200 Alumni Association. Uri holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Academic College of Tel Aviv.
