Professor Varda Shalev is a Managing Partner at Team8 where she builds and invests in Digital Health companies, and an entrepreneur.

Prior to joining Team8, Varda co-founded and served as the Chief Medical Officer of Alike. Health. As Founder and CEO of Maccabi’s Institute for Research and Innovation KSM, she established the first medical informatics program in Israel and pioneered its computerized medical and registry systems.

Varda is a medical researcher, a Professor of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University School of Public Health, and a primary care physician. She is also an independent Board Director for Teva Pharmaceuticals.

Varda has an MD from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, an MPA in Public Health from Clark University, and a Fellowship in Medical Informatics from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She has authored or co-authored more than 250 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
