About The Position

A Team8 Digital Health portfolio company, developing a product on the intersection between health and fintech, is looking for a VP of Engineering to join our rapidly growing team. 

As the company’s first VP of Engineering you will be making and taking part in some of the most significant decisions in the company, and have a unique opportunity to shape the engineering, product, culture, and general trajectory of the company.

 What you’ll do: 

• Own the engineering function of the company.
• End-to-End responsibility for the company’s R&D vision, performance, and deliverables.
• Recruit and build engineering organization & strategy.
•  Defining and leading the R&D team growth plan and strategy.
• Help build, deliver against, and design the company’s product roadmap.
• Work closely with design partners and prospective customers to best ensure the success of active engagement, and synthesize feedback to make needed changes and improvements to the product.
• Manage the engineering team 

Requirements:

• 8+ years experience in getting things done in a distributed, large-scale, and fast-growing environment.
• 6+ years of proven hands-on production-grade development experience.
• 5+ years of experience in managing high performing engineering teams and delivering in Agile and Scrum methodologies. 
• Experience with scalable infrastructure (Kubernetes, Serverless, Lambda) and public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of data-ops and ML/AI technologies.
• Experience with large-scale SaaS production services, databases and Big Data.
• Experience implementing and managing DevOps practices, and CI/CD architecture.
• Experience building products that revolve around data ingest and analytics.
• Strong technical craft mastery and engineering discipline.
• Deep organization capabilities, especially in regards to influence, collaboration and communication
• Experience effectively balancing toil/technical debt with new customers.

Nice to have:

• FinTech/Digital-health experience.
• Early-stage experience.
