About The Position

Team8, a world leading company-building venture group, with deep domain expertise that creates companies and invests in companies (specializing in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, privacy & digital trust, ML/AI, and fintech), is hiring an exceptional Business Development Director to join its Go-To-Market team, to help manage and grow business relationships with its customers and partners in the U.S., primarily in SF and the Bay Area.

The Business Development Director has a central role in the planning and execution of Team8 and its portfolio companies’ BD roadmap. The right candidate will create new business opportunities and leverage Team8’s robust network to advance sales, business development, marketing initiatives, and will help in extending the Team8 “Village” of c-level enterprise executives and thought leaders in technology and academia from around the world.

The candidate will work closely with Team8 Capital and its portfolio companies, to impact and grow  Team8 Capital’s companies’ global customers and partners base. She/he will be responsible also for building the Team8 investors and entrepreneurs communities in the US.

The right candidate should possess the ability to execute multiple complex projects simultaneously, with a proven track record in business development and strategic partnerships development and maintenance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify relevant customers and partners worldwide for Team8 Capital and its portfolio companies.
  • Build our investors community in the U.S.
  • Build our entrepreneurs community in the U.S.
  • Manage BD prospects and the wider CxOs global community – tailored to different audiences (CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, CDOs, CISOs) – in accordance with Team8’s global vision and areas of expertise.
  • Manage data sources and work closely with internal teams to create best-in-class strategic analysis, annual work plans, and BD projects.
  • Work closely with Team8 investors and design partners to develop deep relationships for both Team8 and its companies.
  • Manage sales opportunities – create and execute a multi-faceted plan for prospects, through research, communication channels, leveraging personal networks and following up on marketing-generated leads.
  • Track engagements, follow-ups, and new opportunities, and provide ongoing internal updates.
  • Promote Team8’s marketing and thought leadership initiatives to our network.
  • Perform market research, analyzing market characteristics, trends, the competitive landscape, and more for different verticals within cyber-security and AI.
  • Demonstrate original thinking and passion in inspiring new BD initiatives by researching trends, insights, and developments in cyber, data and AI, and the impact of such technologies on enterprises.
  • Support and help the entire group portfolio companies succeed in their BD and sales efforts.

  • 4+ years of experience and knowledge working directly in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. 
  • Investor relations background
  • Analytical and tech-savvy (internet, social media, spreadsheets and reports, CRM systems).
  • Market research capabilities for technology-driven markets.
  • Native English.
  • Reside in SF Bay Area.
  • Ability to digest large volumes of information and synthesize key takeaways.
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and understanding strategic frameworks and concepts.
  • Team player and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, but also process and detail-oriented.
  • Advantages: VC background; community building background; work experience in the international market (primarily the U.S.); past experience working with Israeli fast-pace technology organizations.
